The deadline: 11pm in Brisbane

All contracted providers must complete the Hearing Services Program self-assessment by midnight on 31 October 2026 (AEDT), the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has told them. Queensland does not observe daylight saving, so that deadline is 11pm on 31 October in Brisbane.

Completing the self-assessment tool (SAT) is a requirement under clause 16.1.8 of the provider contract. The department emailed all providers on 18 September 2026 to say the 2026 tool was available, and a link is on the program website. The reminder was published as provider notice 2026-9 on 1 October 2026.

Why the department wants a Hearing Services Program self-assessment

The department describes the SAT as a key part of the program’s risk-based approach to compliance monitoring. It gives providers a chance to review their systems and processes against the program requirements.

Once you hit submit

  • Providers should receive an email confirming the SAT was received, with a link to a copy of their responses.
  • Responses can also be downloaded on the final page of the SAT. The department asks providers to keep a copy for their records.
  • If no confirmation email arrives, check your junk or spam folder, then contact the department to confirm it was received.
  • Providers can give feedback on the SAT process at the end of the tool.
