ADJUSTED PRACTICE AT COURT SECURITY SCREENING POINTSQueensland Courts have adjusted practices at court security screening sites to ensure security objectives are met and to improve efficiency and consistency across sites. From Monday 11 August 2025, court attendees will no longer be permitted to store items with courthouse security. If you attend court with an item that is considered a security risk in the courthouse environment, you will be directed to take one of the following actions before being granted access into the building: Voluntarily dispose of the item in the allocated bin provided Make alternative personal arrangements for storage of the item Possession of prohibited items such as firearms, knives or other weapons will result in police attendance. CEREMONY NOTICEA ceremonial sitting will be held in the Banco Court on Monday 25 August at 9.00am at which the Chief Justice and Judges of the Supreme Court will acknowledge newly appointed barristers.Members of the public are welcome to attend.The ceremony can be viewed on the following YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/live/k6FepK7EMas?si=g3fyf5pJC06krwDn |
