Australian singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem is back with her first new music in over two years.
“Back to Your Heart” is an ‘80s-inspired pop single that was written and produced by Goodrem alongside Matthew Copley and John Shanks.
This is the first music she has released since her album, Bridge Over Troubled Dreams, was released in 2021.
The song was inspired by her experience of touring around the world last year.
She wanted to create something that “a crowd could sing back to [her], and dance away the night to”.
It includes the lyrics, “When you’re feeling down and out/ Life is for the healing now”.
This release signals the beginning of a “new era” of music under her own label ATLED Records.
“I would consider myself to be someone who has always run their own race and in these moments it is extremely exciting to be able to set up your own music world!” Goodrem wrote in an Instagram post.
“Having ownership of my music in an industry that is constantly evolving is an incredible feeling and fuels my artistry and business ventures.”
Goodrem was just 15 years old when she signed a record deal with Sony Music Australia.
She will begin touring Australia next month to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her album, Innocent Eyes.
It was one of the highest-selling debut albums in Australian history.
Goodrem will perform her debut album in full during her upcoming tour.
She is currently working on more projects under ATLED Records.
