While Christmas is a time of immense joy, wonder, and fun for many, it can also be one of the hardest times of the year for families doing it tough. Australia has a wide variety of charities and non-profit organisations where you can make a difference with a small donation.
If you’re feeling generous over this giving season, we’ve compiled just a small sample of the places you might be inclined to donate to over the season.
Note: News Cop receives no funding or benefit from these organisations. This is simply a small list of high-profile non-profit organisations.
We encourage readers to research organisations before donating.

“Want to give something? We’ll help you GIVIT to a person in need.”
GIVIT is an organisation dedicated to uniting people in need with those with resources to give or donate. People can register their need—groceries, fuel, etc.—so that others can fulfill it.
You can give something directly to a person in need or provide funds to them. You can also donate to the organisation, with 100% of donations going to purchasing essential items for a variety of causes.
