A 49-year-old man has been charged with two counts of murder after killing two people in their Stretton house yesterday morning.
The two bodies were located by police at 9:40am August 9 on the second storey after the man- who needed a Cantonese translator-called police and alerted them to the incident.
According to the Courier Mail, the man is Wei Feng Huang who was taken to hospital yesterday and treated for his injuries where he was charged with murder by detectives overnight.
He will have a bedside hearing sometime today.
Police believe-but are yet to confirm-that the woman in her 40s and the man in his 20s were mother Jifeng “Eileen” Liu and her son Sam with authorities also saying they believe everyone involved in the incident to be linked.
“We do believe the 49-year-old male has a link to this address (but) as to whether the two persons that are victims are linked and in which way, we are still investigating that aspect of it “said Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham who described the incident as a “frenzied attack”.
“From the evidence within that area, the weapons seized and the observations of the deceased, it was quite evident the attack could be described accurately in that way,” he said.
“It is quite traumatic in terms of a large amount of blood that is present and from evidence within that area and also the weapons that were seized.”
Two bladed weapons were found which investigators believe were used in the killings.
A crime scene was immediately established with forensic officers carrying out a thorough examination of the property with Dep Sup Massingham urging anyone with information to come forward.
“We do seek community support and information here today with respect to the movements of any person in or around this residence before 9.45am this morning or any dashcam or any other CCTV video that people think may be relevant to our investigations here today.”
More to come.
