Redcliffe will come alive with a pop-up performance by a Bee Gees kazoo flash mob on Sunday (June 21) at Bee Gees Way. As part of its Make Music Month celebrations, council wants kazoo players of all abilities to make ‘Night Fever’ history with the flash mob from 9:30am on Sunday. The event coincides with the international Make Music Day, where free live music is performed in public places across 120 countries. Mayor Peter Flannery says they are proud to be home to the Bee Gees. “Council established Bee Gees Way along the Redcliffe foreshore in 2013 to give residents and tourists the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane with one of the world’s biggest musical groups,” he says. PsiQuantum’s acting CEO Victor Peng says the city “provides the infrastructure, scalability, and collaborative environment we need”. The project will be subject to the usual approval and land disposal processes, council says.

Planning extension granted for Narangba East land
The State Government has given council a two-year extension to current planning conditions for Narangba East. The extension will allow council to finalise plans for future land uses and infrastructure projects. Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie approved the changes on the conditions that future housing projects be included in plans for the area and the early release of land fronting industry on Old Gympie and Richards roads. Acting Mayor Jodie Shipway says the decision will ensure the area cannot be compromised by incompatible development applications and protect rural landowner rights. The extension will run out on June 18, 2028.
