No Parking will apply from 6am to 8am on weekdays along a 1.75km stretch of the Princes Highway at Heathcote.

What changed

Transport for NSW has announced No Parking restrictions along about 1.75 kilometers of the western side of the Princes Highway, between Jennings Road and Heathcote Road in Heathcote. Once in place, the rules will apply from 6am to 8am, Monday to Friday, so you won’t be able to park along that stretch during those hours.

Who is affected

Anyone who usually parks on the western side of this stretch on weekday mornings will be most directly affected and will need to find somewhere else to park between 6am and 8am. Northbound drivers in the morning peak are the ones the change is meant to help.

When it starts

The restrictions are not yet in force. The installation work will be carried out over two night shifts, each running from 8pm to 5am, at some point between Sunday 25 October and Sunday 15 November 2026. During those shifts, drivers on the Princes Highway should expect lane closures, stop/start traffic control, traffic controllers directing vehicles, and some delays.

What it means in practice

Transport for NSW hasn’t given an exact start date for the ban, but it’s likely to take effect once the works are finished and the new signs are up. The aim is to ease congestion for northbound traffic during the morning peak and to reduce the risk of rear-end and side-swipe crashes on this busy stretch of highway.
