Less than a week after a horrific school shooting in Texas that left 22 people dead, another mass shooting has occurred in an Oklahoma hospital this morning, resulting in the deaths of four civilians.
Law enforcement confirmed that the alleged shooter was also dead, believed to have taken his own life.
Multiple others were injured in the gunfire.
Police responded to reports of a man armed with a rifle and handgun walking through the campus of St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, a city which was commemorating a horrific racial massacre that occurred in 1921 on this day.
“This turned into an active shooter situation,” Tulsa Police said in a statement.
“At this point, we can confirm the shooter is dead.
“Officers are currently going through every room in the building checking for additional threats.
“We know there are multiple injuries, and potentially multiple casualties.”
The man was alleged to have shot and killed four people before turning his weapon on himself.

Police arrived on the scene within three minutes and actively engaged the shooter on the building’s second floor.
“Right now we have four civilians that are dead, and one shooter that is dead,” Tulsa Deputy Police Chief Jonathan Brooks said.
“The officers who did arrive [on the scene] did hear shots in the building and that’s what directed them to the second floor.”
Today marked the 101-year anniversary of the racially motivated Tulsa Race Massacre, which was acknowledged by US President Joe Biden this morning.
Over 800 people were injured in what is considered one of the worst incidents of racial violence in American history, with varied numbers on the official death toll.
It is unclear whether the hospital shooting was perpetrated in coincidence with the Tulsa memorial date.
No other motivation has been made available about a potential motive, and the shooter has not yet been identified.
