Two men have been charged with murder over the death of a 38-year-old Brisbane man who was fatally shot last Tuesday in Corinda.
On October 8, Queensland Police charged a 30-year-old East Brisbane man with one count of murder while a 26-year-old Mackenzie man was charged with the same offence plus unlawful use of a motor vehicle yesterday morning.
Andre Van Mason, 26, was believed to have stolen a car which was used in the murder of 38-year-old Timothy Van Vo.
Police arrested Mr Mason at a house on October 6 and discovered a meth lab operation within the house.
It’s been alleged by investigators that the victim Mr Vo, got into a fight with a group of people at the Cliveden Avenue address, before he was fatally shot in the chest.
He was reportedly across the street in his car when he saw the group enter the home and attack the resident.
“The male deceased was struck at very close range and we believe the weapon involved was a 12-gauge shotgun,” said Detective superintendent Andrew Massingham on October 4.
“Certainly there was significant conflict amongst the whole group.”
Five people including four men and one woman fled the scene in a silver Audi, which was later found burnt out in a Dutton Park unit complex and had destroyed six other cars.
A funeral service was held for Mr Vo yesterday at Oxley according to his Sarah Siobhan and her Facebook post.
The funeral notice said that Mr Vo was born in Sydney in 1984 and according to Ms Siobhan he leaves behind two children aged seven and two.
“[He] was loved by everyone,” she told the Courier Mail.
“Timothy is the youngest of seven siblings, he was loved by everyone. He would help anyone in need.”
She said that he would “love and care for everyone especially my mum, since our dad passed away”.
