Adelaide Airport biosecurity rules for baggage have changed, with three new entry points added and one removed, according to a notice from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry dated 8 October 2026. The notice is aimed at first point of entry operators, aircraft operators, shipping agents, importers and brokers.
Three terminals added, one dropped
The department said the Biosecurity (First Point of Entry, Adelaide Airport) Determination 2019 has been varied. As a result, these terminals are now biosecurity entry points for baggage:
- the terminal at 10 Sir Richard Williams Avenue, Adelaide Airport
- the terminal at 21 James Schofield Drive, Adelaide Airport
- the terminal at 28 James Schofield Drive, Adelaide Airport
Cobham Aviation Terminal has been removed as an entry point for baggage.
What operators need to do
Under the Adelaide Airport biosecurity determination, permission must be obtained from the department before any arrival that the determination does not allow. The person in charge of an aircraft is responsible for making sure it complies, and operators and other stakeholders are advised to check the current determinations before planning aircraft or goods movements.
What the Adelaide Airport biosecurity notice leaves out
The notice does not say when the changes take effect or why they were made. The determination itself is on the Federal Register of Legislation. Questions can go to biosecurityfirstpoints@aff.gov.au or the department’s general enquiries line on 1800 900 090.
