Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium came in for some heavy use from both rugby codes as NRL games went national in round six
The round began on Thursday when the Redcliffe Dolphins defeated reigning premiers Penrith 30-12 at Suncorp.
The next day (Friday, April 11), the Broncos lost to Roosters 16-26 at Suncorp.
Then, on Saturday night in the other rugby code, the Qld Reds lost to the ACT Brumbies 39-26 in their Super Rugby Pacific clash.
INJURY NEWS
NRL website NRL.com.au reports that Warriors skipper James Fisher-Harris lasted just 11 minutes at AAMI Park on Sunday before he was forced off with a pec injury.
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad was ruled out after failing his HIA while the Storms’s Jahrome Hughes failed to take to the field for the second half.
With the next game, against the Storm, this Friday, team management chose to take no chances with their halfback.
“Jahrome was keen to play on but we just thought with the way the game was the best option was to take him off,” Storm coach Craig Bellamy said post-match.
“He was ready to go again if we needed him. He will go for scans just to make sure and hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”
Wests Tigers winger Jeral Skelton left the field in the second half in Newcastle with a recurrent hamstring injury.
Dragons winger Christian Tuipulotu will be sent for scans after he was forced from the field with a hamstring strain during Friday’s match against the Titans at WIN Stadium.
