A mother-of-three was allegedly murdered by her estranged husband after being found unresponsive in his Sydney home.
Police and emergency services were called to a house in Bexley, south Sydney, just before 6pm on Wednesday evening.
Paramedics treated the woman for critical injuries, but she died at the scene.
She has been identified as Amira Moughnieh, 30, who moved to Sydney over ten years ago after leaving Lebanon.
It is alleged that she was bashed to death by her former partner, Ahmad Hodroj.
He was arrested at the scene and taken into custody where he was charged with murder.
It is believed that Ms Moughnieh arrived at his home to pick up her young children.
However, they were not there.
Friends have described the Sydney mother as a “kind” person who “loved life”.
Ms Moughnieh worked as an aged care worker in Bankstown and aspired to work in fashion design.
She separated from her husband more than a year ago, and their divorce was due to be finalised later this month.
The pair shared three children together, aged between two and six.
Family members told reporters that Moughnieh had just gotten her Australian citizenship and passport and she planned to travel with her children.
The family said they are “devastated, shocked, and angry.”
Loved ones have taken to social media to pay tribute to the young mother.
“You will always be remembered in our hearts forever,” one wrote.
“May your soul rest in heaven, my love.”
Investigations into her death are continuing.
Hodroj will appear in court on 31 August.
