The Bulldogs extended their best start to a season since 1993 when they defeated the Knights 20-0 in front of home fans in Sydney on Sunday.
The Bulldogs are one of only three unbeatens teams after round 5 and now sit in third place on the competition table.
They fell one place after the Storm thumped the Sea Eagles 48-24 in front of their home fans on Sunday to claim second spot.
The Broncos lead the competition with a 46-24 thumping of Wests Tigers in Brisbane and the Dolphins defeated the Titans 36-10 on the Gold Coast, both on Saturday.
The Eels just edged out the Dragons 23-22, also on Saturday.
On Friday, reigning premiers Penrith lost 22-18 to the Cowboys in Parramatta while the Rabbitohs accounted for the Roosters 20-14.
On Thursday, the Raiders hosted, and defeated, the Sharks 24-20 in Canberra.
The NZ Warriors had the bye.
INJURY FRONT
NRL website NRL.com.au says the Knights lost Jacob Saifiti and James Schiller inside the first minute against the Bulldogs then lost Jack Hetherington to a shoulder injury early in the second half, leaving them with just one man on the bench.
Broncos skipper Adam Reynolds believes he will be okay to play this weekend after leaving the field with a suspected hamstring injury on Saturday.
Tigers lost halfback Latu Fainu when he failed a Head Impact Assessment in the second half.
Broncos forward Brendan Piakura was taken from the field on a stretcher after a head clash with Alex Twal.
Manly winger Jason Saab is in doubt for this weekend’s clash with Cronulla after he limped from the field on Sunday.
Coach Anthony Seibold was optimistic the injury is not serious but fears Saab will miss the upcoming game.
“Saaby’s got a high-ankle sprain,” he said. “They’re telling me it’s minor.”
South Sydney lost five-eighth Cody Walker and boom halfback Jamie Humphreys in the first half against the Roosters.
Fijian winger Mikaele Ravalawa sustained a hamstring injury early in the second half while the Roosters lost Kangaroos prop Lindsay Collins with a knee injury.
