In his hometown of Woodford in Moreton Bay, Queensland, Private Alfred Jull’s ultimate sacrifice for king and country on the battlefields of France during World War I lives on.
The former timbergetter is remembered under a commemorative tree in his hometown, on Archer Street, along with 20 other fallen brothers-in-arms in a green avenue of honour.
With Anzac Day (April 25) falling on a Saturday this year, NSW, ACT and WA will also observe Monday (April 27) as an Anzac Day holiday.
The other states and territories do not although trading hours will be restricted on the Saturday; click here to read more.

Services will held at 17 locations across Moreton Bay organised by RSL sub-branches and community groups.
Mayor Peter Flannery says the day is a chance to reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of Australian servicemen and women in overseas battles.
“From the first landings on the shores of Gallipoli in the early hours of April 25, 1915, to the rugged mountains of Uruzgan Province, we should never forget the price paid for the freedoms we enjoy today,” he says.
“For more than a century, Australians, including those from Moreton Bay, proudly defended us in wars and peacekeeping operations throughout the world.”
Flannery says the memory is kept alive in small ways across the city: “Whether it be through a monument, a park, a road or a bus stop, I’m proud to say the Anzac spirit continues to shine brightly in our community,” he says.
“As a proud soldier myself, I honour those who stood with me and came before and after me. Lest We Forget.”
