A pet pig named Kevin Bacon has returned to his Pennsylvania home after running away more than two weeks ago.
The 90-kilogram pet escaped from his new Gettysburg, Pennsylvania property on 14 October.
It is believed that Kevin knocked over a post and ran into the woods — just one day after the family moved in.
Owner Chelsea Rumbaugh started a Facebook page named “Bring Kevin Bacon Home”, gaining thousands of followers.
Over the course of 17 days, the page shared updates of Kevin sighted in the area.
Neighbours and locals donated their time and equipment to help look for Kevin, including the use of camera drones.
Rumbaugh said the pig and her had been doing a “song and dance” where he would trot away as soon as she got close.
The pig gained the attention of namesake actor Kevin Bacon, who wrote on Threads to “Bring Kevin Bacon home!” over the weekend.
On Tuesday, Kevin Bacon returned to his home.
“I had come outside with my husband to do a perimeter walk of our property to see if Kevin was hiding in the woods,” Rumbaugh told a local news outlet.
“No sooner than when we stepped outside, we saw that Kevin was in our new pen. I dropped what I was holding, ran over to the gate, stepped into the pen myself and shut the gate behind me.”
Rumbaugh added that Kevin may have a “life of stardom” ahead of him.
“We have plans for our property to be an open-to-the-public farm and offer services for children and adults who struggle with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, and Kevin is going to be here for all of that, too.”
She said there is an “open invitation” for actor Kevin Bacon to visit the pig anytime.
The Rumbaughs have put measures in place to ensure that Kevin cannot escape again.
