Justin Bieber has called off the remainder of his Justice World Tour after he revealed that the hectic schedule is taking a toll on his health.
He announced the news in a social media post, saying that after cancelling several shows during the North America leg of his tour due to his battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, that he was still in ill health.
Bieber returned to performing for a brief period, giving several shows in Europe but said that it took “a real toll on me” and was advised by medical professionals to call it quits.
“This past weekend, I have performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil.
“After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better.”
He thanked his fans for showing support through this difficult time.
Earlier this year, the 28-year-old went public with his battle against Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome. He posted a video message that showed half of his face paralysed.
“As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move,” he said in the video.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the condition often occurs when a shingles outbreak attacks the face nerve near the ear, which causes the temporary facial paralysis and sometime hearing loss.
Justin was set to make his way to Australia as part of the Justice World Tour bust has now cancelled those dates.
He would have played two shows at Allianz Stadium on November 29 and 30 plus a show on December 3 in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.
