The National Australia Bank (NAB) has announced emergency grants for customers impacted by floods in WA and NT.
The grants will be for $1,000 for the purpose of assisting customers who were severely impacted by major flooding occurring in both WA and NT with ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie.
Applications opened Tuesday, and the grants will cover funds for structural or internal damage to the primary place of residence for customers, and to meet their immediate needs.
The funds will also be used for customers who suffered damage to property, equipment, fencing, or loss of stock or livestock in the business and agricultural area.
NAB Acting Retail Executive David Banks said the floods were devastating to see.
“Some of these communities in Western Australia are facing the worst floods in the state’s history.” Mr Banks said.
“Flood-affected customers in both WA and NT need our support and we’re here to help them get through this.
“The recovery will be long and this is one step forward in helping them start that journey.” He said.
The support is available for NAB customers who live in areas of WA and NT that have been declared as disaster areas, as per lists provided by the Department of Home Affairs’ Disaster Assist website.
The disaster areas are stated below:
