If you want to know how much it will cost to live in the world’s second tallest tower, consider this — $10,000 per square foot is the minimum asking price.
That’s the starting price for a place to stay in the un-built Burj Azizi, a 725-m tall tower planned for Dubai.
Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez provided the glamour for the prime sales launch in Dubai which was held yesterday (AEST) with more than 15,000 attendees on hand.
Other launches were held in Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, New York, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.
Dubai media reports say that a A$27 million three-bedroom penthouse was among 110 units that sold on the first day of sales.
There are 1037 units in the tower including 128 penthouses across eight floors.
The reports say another buyer booked the 21st floor and all of its 18 units.
Scheduled for completion by 2028, the 131+ storey tower features suites, penthouses, apartments and holiday homes, cinema and supermarkets.
The units are priced at $10,000 to $17,000 per square foot.
The tower will feature an all-suite seven-star hotel inspired by seven cultural themes.
The developers believe the tower will set new world records for highest hotel lobby (level 11), highest nightclub (level 126) and the highest observation deck (level 130).
Farhad Azizi, Group CEO of the Azizi group of companies, says the sales launch is a “significant milestone” for them.
“Burj Azizi is not just a structure; it is a tribute to the emirate’s ever-growing prominence on the global stage,” he says.
“We are honoured to play a role in forming this city’s legacy, one that will prevail for all generations to come.”
The new tower would be second in height only to the 828m-tall Burj Khalifa, also in Dubai, with its 163 floors.
