Shylah Rodden remains in a coma after she was hit by a roller coaster at the Royal Melbourne Show last weekend.
The 26-year-old underwent surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital after sustaining critical injuries including a severe brain injury.
Her dad, Alan Rodden spoke to the Daily Mail and detailed the type of injuries Shylah suffered and said that she’s got a fight ahead of her.
“Obviously I can’t talk to my daughter. She’s going to be in a coma for quite a while,” he said.
“The injuries are horrific. Horrific. She’s brain damaged. It’s pelvic, her arms, legs, back, neck – there’s hardly a thing that’s not broken. I just can’t work out how the hell so much damage has been done.
“Even the doctors have said they haven’t seen anything as bad as this for a long time.”

A video has been uploaded to social media which shows Ms Rodden inside the safety rail and near the track before the roller coaster hits and drags her-according to reports- nine metres up the track.
Some reports claimed that she had fallen from the rollercoaster but police and Royal Melbourne Show officials quickly ruled out this scenario.
“We are working closely with the ride operator, WorkSafe Victoria and Victoria Police to investigate the issue further, however we can confirm that no one has fallen from the ride,” they said.
The Rebel Coaster was closed for a few days as investigations were being carried out but findings revealed that nothing was wrong with the coaster itself and it has since being re-opened.
The statement from the Royal Melbourne show said that it was their “number one priority” to ensure that everyone remained safe at the show.
“Strict safety protocols are upheld in line with Victorian WorkSafe regulations,” the statement said.
“All rides on site have undergone stringent compliance inspections and have passed all the required safety documentation.”
