The popular US fast food chain restaurant is set to make its way down to Australia with at least 10 stores to be opened around the country.
According to DC Strategy, an Australian based franchise strategists business, Wendy’s is looking to expand its operations past the already 6,711 stores already running around the world.
“The Wendy’s Company is looking for world-class, experienced franchise partners with strong operations experience and a proven track record for growing brands in Australia.
“The brand is also focused on building long-term relationships with partners who share Wendy’s values, commitment to quality, and passion for fast food done the right way.”
At the moment, it’s proposed that opening a Wendy’s in Australia will cost $1 million with 10 site opportunities being advertised.
It’s the third-largest burger brand behind McDonalds and Burger King with 93 per cent of their stores based in the US.
Wendy’s has been operating in New Zealand in for the past 30 years and previously had a small stint in Australia from the 70s to 80s but disappeared after little success.
Most Australian’s are familiar with the brand Wendy’s but it’s fair to say, burgers isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.
Wendy’s Milk Bar has been a staple in Australian shopping centres since the 70s, serving up hot dogs, milkshakes, ice cream and smoothies.
Some people on Twitter have been quick to point out the name similarities.
