It’s been a week since Australia decided that Anthony Albanese would become the next Prime Minister and while a change is what the people wanted, little is known about how they actually felt about the election and current political climate of the country.
The team at NewsCop headed to the streets of Brisbane in order to find out some public opinion.

A 19-year-old said that there was a “lack of care” for the environment, especially when it came to the Great Barrier Reef and it’s deterioration. Climate change was another issue they were worried about.
When asked whether they thought Anthony Albanese would take strong action on climate change, they said “[let’s] hope so”.
Another issue raised by someone was the NDIS. NewsCop talked to a 23-year-old who said that there “was a lot of cuts Scott Morrison wanted to make within NDIS”. They mentioned that as far as they knew Labor and the Greens didn’t want to “nearly as much” when it came to funding cuts.
For one of our final questions, we asked if people think Australia has changed much over the past 20 years. Most said it was “changing” but that there are still big issues that need to be dealt with like “institutional racism” and an increase for “mental health services for first peoples” plus “increased NDIS funding”.
